About Hussein
A story told by those who live it

A Friend's Tribute
This "About" section is a bit different... it's written by me. Silvio... the "Silvão da Dalmácia" — the street where we grew up... lol — and not by Hussein. It was a way to thank him for everything he's done for me and to say how much pleasure it is to talk about him.
Renato is a great brother. As I've told him countless times, he's my best friend, a life partner! The kind where we spend hours in meaningful conversations... that make life worth living! One of the purest souls I've ever met. Connected with nature, he carries the Divine — as we affectionately call God in our conversations — in his heart. He's always looking to help people, always ready to do good.
In skating... he has incredible technique — since I've known him, at 6 to 8 years old, he was already skating, already doing his tricks around town. Like every true skater... if you see an X-ray of this guy, you'd be shocked... haha... Full of pins in his body, patches, plates... from so many falls, so many crazy tricks and learning.
Today he gets on a skateboard and you can see that he and the board are one — it's incredible to see the connection, they're a single living being, cruising down the hill. He and the board, there's no distinction, you can't tell who is who... it's incredible how he connects, how he carves a totally stylish line down the hills at the Ipiranga Museum. How pleasurable it is, man, to see him smiling on a skateboard, barefoot, shirtless, purely connected.
About his shapes, his classic longboards, this guy knows so much, makes every shape with care, crafts every shape by hand with dedication, in an incredible way. He's an artisan with a giant heart... people like him are going extinct... if I were you, I'd secure your shape soon...
There's no classic board of higher quality — what he puts into what he builds is love. And he delivers with quality, as if you picked up a piece and that piece was made especially for you, to the letter, with all your details, all your tastes and styles, with everything you need, as if it were perfectly made to measure for you.
And the best part, he does it smiling, with that smile and lightness of being that enchant. His care and dedication in making a shape, delivering a board, are incredible.
Renato Hussein, a rare gem... a friend who is pure gold. I love you, my brother!
The Journey
Hussein Classic Boards is Born
In São Paulo, Renato begins hand-sculpting his first shapes — the first São Paulo brand of classic surf style longboards was born.
The Hills of Ipiranga
Museu do Ipiranga becomes the meeting point: the hills of São Paulo become waves of asphalt.
Recognition
Blog 60 Polegadas highlights Hussein as a reference in classic surf style — 'Concrete, drizzle, and asphalt. It is in this barren São Paulo that Hussein invokes all the beauty of the old times.'
Off BoardShop
Partnership with Brazil's largest longboard shop, with a complete lineup of 4 models available.
Shape #1,000
Historic milestone — one thousand handcrafted shapes, each one made by his own hands.
The Process
